MINI GAMES IN PAIRC UI CHAOIMH SHOWCASE CLUB TALENT

Action in Pairc Ui Chaoimh from Midleton-Blarney

Coiste Oiliuna have taken a leaf from Cumann na mBunscoils book and are now organising mini games at half time in inter county games held in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

For the Cork and Cavan football qualifier Castlehaven and Aghada displayed their skills in an 11 a side game for under 12 players. In the Gaelic Grounds, Cork and Limerick clubs emulated there senior football teams by going head to head in a battle between Oula (Limerick) and Clyda Rovers (Cork). It was a great honour for all involved to play on such a big stage.

At the under 21 Cork VS Tipperary hurling game, Blarney and Midleton got the call to entertain the patrons during the half time break and though short in duration, it will be cherished by the boys involved for years to come.

Coiste Oiliuna would like to thank the Munster Council for facilitating this initiative and also to Cork County Board who provided goodie bags to all the participants after the games.

In the recent game between Cork and Antrim in Croke Park 11 players from the Cork u 14 school of excellence were given the chance to play in a Super Touch 11 a side game against Antrim u 14's. This game was organised by National Coaching and Games. The aim is to showcase the Super Touch game which, with normal rules, provides players with games of up to 11 a side and caters for 13 to 18 year olds. If clubs require more details, please dont hesitate to contact any of the GDA's in the county.
